One of the main concerns I hear before a steam unit installation is the possible location. My main goal is to make the process of a steam shower conversion very easy and ensuring there are no roadblocks that can prevent you from enjoying the health benefits of having a steam room at home. As you can tell from these pictures the steam unit was attached to the wall in the bathroom and a custom cabinet was built around it to make it look nice and part of the room, so if placement is a concern, give us a call and you will be able to rest easy knowing your steam generator will be in the best possible location without interrupting the beautiful look of your home.

![]() Just finished another high quality steam shower conversion. When you are choosing the right steam unit for your shower keep in mind that if it's too powerful for your space it will heat up quickly but not be steamy. You must find the sweet spot where it will heat up in a small amount of time, but also constantly be full of steam. Call us if you have any questions about easily converting your shower into a steam room. Just finished doing the final inspection on a Mr Steam Super5 E Steam Generator System. This job was done by the builder of the property, but the company that provided the equipment wanted us to inspect the installation and do the first start up of the equipment. The owner bought the equipment from the Steam and Sauna Connection one of the most respected and reputable distributors of Steam and Sauna Equipment in South Florida.
If you are wondering whether you can turn your shower into a steam room, the answer is yes. I just finished a quick conversion for one of my customers and he was surprised to see how easily and effectively, we were able to turn his regular shower into a steam shower. The job took three days in total, the first day of the ceiling tile installation, second for the installation of the steam generator and all its components, and third for the installation of the glass door. We added the Max Flow filter to clean the water supply feeding the steam bath generator and installed a Mr Steam MS-90-E with I Tempo Control in Polished Chrome and Autoflush valve. Now my customer can enjoy a relaxing steam bath every day after coming home from work, his mind at ease knowing the autoflush makes the steamer maintenance free and the filter allows for the purest steam to fill the shower and give him the most healing and stress reducing experience right at the comfort of his home. If you have ever looked at your shower and wondered if you could turn it into a steam room, think about no more and get it done, you will not regret taking your quality of life to the next level with a Mr Steam Shower right in the privacy of your home.
Amerec boilers are of extreme high quality, if you are thinking about installing one for your club this is the brand you need. This particular installation was to replace an old Amerec boiler that had been operating without any major issues for close to 10 years. Although the old boiler was still working before replacement, our customer wanted to take the opportunity to install a brand new boiler. In this case, we decided to add the Amerec ASX-200 Dual Stage Filtration System which the old boiler did not have. Installing a filtration system is very important even if you have an automatic draining system, this old auto-drain system was completely clogged due to the hardness of the water supply. This filtration system will give you six months of clean water, so the cartridges should be replaced at least twice a year. We then tied the new boiler to the old copper plumbing lines, replacing just certain couplings and connections leaving the mechanical part of the boiler ready to operate. Before ordering the new boiler, we ensured that the voltage and phase would actually match the onsite supply; therefore, we were able to correctly connect the 240-volt supply, which also provides 120 volt to the boiler controls. We also ran a new cable for the temperature probe and for the on/off control. Once all these connections were made, we proceeded to set up the digital run clocks for the automatic drain and for the operation of the boiler. We prefer to set up the boiler on a continuous run throughout the daily hours of operation for the club, as this ensures that a smooth temperature maintenance can be attained throughout the day so that spa users don't have to wait for the steam room to heat up if it has been through a resting period. These boilers are made to operate 24/7 so it will not cause any problems in the long run. We also like to set the automatic drain for a time when we know the club will be completely closed and no one will be around; although, the drain source is located in a safe area where scolding is not likely, we prefer to be extra safe. After testing the boiler for two hours, we ensured proper operation and the newly renovated spa was ready to go. We just finished the conversion of a regular shower into a Mr. Steam Shower. In this case, our customer did not want to tear down all the existing tile, so we just changed the floor, replaced the first row of wall tile, and added tile to the ceiling. The first row of tile has to be broken inevitably when removing an old shower basin.
After finishing the tile work, we installed the frame-less glass to completely enclose the shower. The space was somewhat limited, so a teak fold up shower seat was installed; however, this needs to be done carefully as these seats are to be installed directly to the studs or else they will not support weight and collapse. All the corners of the shower were reinforced with commercial grade silicone and the entire shower was treated with a high grade sealer to prevent humidity buildup. The Mr. Steam unit was located in one of the kitchen cabinets, which so happened to be right behind the shower wall where the mixer is located. This new Mr. Steam shower made our customer very happy and gave him an amazing way to relax after long stressful days in the office! The Mr Steam I Dream Package is really the most luxurious and innovative steam product in the market right now. The installation can be tricky, but if done right an unique and amazing steam bath can be achieved, like in the case of this recent installation which had a high level of difficulty but the end result was a tremendous success.
The steam unit put in is an MS-Super3-EC1 with the I steam control and Steam Head in the black finish, the I Steam module will allow you to control the time and temperature settings, audiosteam music system , chromasteam mood lighting and aromasteam oil delivery system. The first part is choosing where to install the steam unit in an existing bathroom and the most feasible place was in the bathroom vanity right next to the shower, from this location, we were able to pull water to feed the steam unit and run the 240 volt electrical which we got from the garage. Once we had placed the steam unit in the vanity the next step was to find a suitable location for the I Dream equipment. We were able to locate and adjacent wall in the laundry room that when opened led us to the steam unit in the vanity, this made it a suitable area to place the audiosteam, chromasteam and aromasteam system, because they are all connected to the steam unit. Now the new challenge was to run the speaker wire and chromasteam cable from the closet to the ceiling in the shower, luckily the attic allowed us enough space to crawl and successfully route said cables to the shower. I must say that the next thing wed did was my partners idea and it came out beautiful! The solution for the ceiling which was not tiled; was to create a custom tempered glass which would be attached to the actual studs and would become the new ceiling, thus providing an amazing look and effectively waterproofing the shower. The speakers, chromasteam light and rain shower head were placed in the new glass ceiling, the I Steam control and Steamhead properly installed inside the shower, the steam unit and I Dream accessories all ready to be fired up, and so the steam session began. With the time and temperature set and about five minutes later the steam began to fill the shower, and with the touch of a button in the I Steam control the aromasteam system infuses the steam line with natural aromatherapy, the music source is chosen and the mood lighting turned on, after a half hour testing session our job was complete and our customer extremely happy and eager to enjoy his Mr Steam I Dream Package. I forgot to mention he also got the steam linx system which allows you to turn the steam unit on/off from your smart phone so long as you're within wifi range! Amerec has been providing saunas of high quality for the past forty years and they are most definitely the best sauna brand in the United States. When you are building a sauna room is important to ensure the walls are covered in plywood prior to installing the sauna wood so that the tongue and groove system is given a proper nailing surface.
The plywood must be covered with vapor barrier so that the sauna room becomes insulated and the humidity does not build up. This sauna room was installed in a Gym, the location chosen was the old storage room that was located in the Mens locker room, the job took about four days to be completed. The first part of the process was to measure the room, making a detailed drawing which is sent to the factory so they can prepare a drawing of their own, when this factory drawing was approved by our client the western red cedar wood was precut according to the approved specs. Three weeks later we received the entire sauna room in boxes ready to be assembled, so we began by running the 240 volt electrical feed to the sauna room, then the plywood and vapor barrier were put in place, once this was ready; the nailing of the tongue and groove began. Each plank is placed according to the drawing and proper level is ensured, the best place to start is the ceiling, then move on the back wall, side walls, frontal walls, upper and lower benches, door jamb and hanging the actual door, then last but not least the floor! We always ensure that all temperature probes, time and temperature control, light and electrical feed cables are properly ran before we put up the sauna wood. The last thing we do is install the actual sauna heater and all its components, once this is done; the new sauna room is ready to be enjoyed instantly and it actually was! So last week I received a call regarding a brand new Mr steam unit that had been installed in the Ft Lauderdale Area. My customer was disappointed because it was not turning on after the installation had been finished.
I went over to check this unit out, and after inspecting it; saw that the water feed solenoid was broken in half, specifically the part of the solenoid that goes inside the red hose. The unit was turned on without making sure that nothing was leaking, a simple inspection would have prevented the damage. When the steam generator was turned on the water hit the 103975 pc board and transformer, this immediately burned these parts. The factory test every unit before they are shipped out so it's impossible this would have been broken there, it could have happened during shipping or the installer over tightened the water supply hose, either way, it should have been detected before the unit was turned on. I replaced the pc board, transformer and water feed solenoid and got the steam unit to work again. Mr Steam has been around for close to sixty years and it is very common to run into units that have been installed about twenty years ago, this was the case for my latest installation. The steam unit had been installed before the bathroom was actually built, so the bathroom vanity was introduced around the actual steamer. Surprisingly the steam unit worked without any sort of issues or maintenance for the full twenty years, this is a testament to the quality that a Mr steam generator offers.
Removing the old steam unit was actually impossible without taking the vanity apart and removing the sink, once that was done, I was able to place the new unit in this very tight spot where the original unit was placed. My customer did not want to purchase the auto flush which was a shame because it does work, very effectively; it keeps the tank clean by removing the excess water left from the boiling process and leaving the tank empty, so when you start a new session fresh water is introduced to the steam unit tank. This allows the heating element and tank to remain free of any sediment build up. The new I Tempo Plus Control and Aroma Steamhead were positioned in their original placement spots in the shower, momentarily the brand new Mr steam was turned on and the steam bath session began. |
