So last week I received a call regarding a brand new Mr steam unit that had been installed in the Ft Lauderdale Area. My customer was disappointed because it was not turning on after the installation had been finished.
I went over to check this unit out, and after inspecting it; saw that the water feed solenoid was broken in half, specifically the part of the solenoid that goes inside the red hose. The unit was turned on without making sure that nothing was leaking, a simple inspection would have prevented the damage. When the steam generator was turned on the water hit the 103975 pc board and transformer, this immediately burned these parts. The factory test every unit before they are shipped out so it's impossible this would have been broken there, it could have happened during shipping or the installer over tightened the water supply hose, either way, it should have been detected before the unit was turned on. I replaced the pc board, transformer and water feed solenoid and got the steam unit to work again.
