Replacing an old Amerec 8 KW Sauna Heater

This week I replaced an old Amerec 8 KW Sauna Heater that had been working in a commercial setting for close to ten years, it is not uncommon to run into these heaters that really after ten years of heavy duty daily use are still working and could be repaired if so desired. In this case my customer decided a new unit was in the best interest of the club and we put in a new Amerec Trend 8 KW Sauna Heater with A30 time and temperature control and commercial on/off button.The installation is always difficult when it comes to running the new cables for the controls from outside the sauna room to the heater inside, luckily I have very good plastering skills and making holes in the wall to run the cable is not a big issue since I can easily patch it, once that is done, we put in the new heater and make all the 240 volt electrical connections and also connect the sauna light to the heater so it can be powered by it and not from the source in the breaker box, this allows the light to be automatically turned on when the on/off button is pushed and also be turned on/off from the A30 control. This brand new heater works very well for the commercial setting it was put in, the on/off button makes it easy to operate for the daily user and the A30 control gives the manager the ability to change settings, although, the A30 control was left accessible for the daily users so they could also make changes to the settings. The room reaches 180 degrees in about 15 minutes, which is very good timing and adding some water to the rocks creates some soft steam and raises the humidity of the room.
